Startup Grind Outing

On the 16th of December, 3PM GMT, the Fix25 team graced the invite of the Startup Grind Lagos team, to its EOY party and networking platform, sponsored by Ingressive LLC, Budweiser, SeedSpace amongst others. It proved to be an eventful outing, filled with fun, games, insight and network opportunities.
The Startup Grind is a global community powered by Google for Entrepreneurs with a goal is to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs – a monthly meetup here in Lagos, for awesome, dedicated entrepreneurs.
The event took place at the Seedspace Lagos, located at 23 Agodogba Avenue, Parkview Estate, Lagos. In attendance were various entrepreneurs from a wide array fo industries, ranging from FinTech to Fashion, and everything in between. Everyone in audience had something special to offer, but today, we were all receiving from the panel that was up of Maya Horgan Famodu, Partner at Ingressive LLC, Adetayo Bomiduro, Co-founder Max.NG and a representative of Budweiser, responsible for the branding and advertising of the brand.
The event started with an interactive session, where all in audience was encouraged to share opinions on diverse business topics like People or Process, which is more important? Money or Network, which is more important for a startup? The standout point from this session was that, in topics like this, there is no right or wrong answer, what matters is your perspective and your situation.
Next, the panelists were engaged in expository Q-and-A session on the challenges of entrepreneurial life and gave pointers on how we as budding business owners can make use of various opportunities around us. How the political atmosphere of the coming year should be factored into our business planning, and how best to make sure our businesses run independent of factors that are beyond our immediate control.
The evening continued with games, interactive exercises, food and drinks, and prize winning with a member of the Fix25 team bagging a prize for Fashionistar, an African fashion magazine, for a global audience, co-founded by Taiwo Afolayan. The interaction and networking between members in the room was amazing, as the air in the room was light and all were willing to meet and learn form each other. The evening was mind opening with intelligent conversations and good laughs. All-in-all an enjoyable outing for the team.
